Most plasterers we speak to choose the 16 inch as their main pouch and add an 18 inch for the larger finishing trowel. The pouch is sized snug to the blade for protection.
The leg strap is removable. You can wear the pouch strapped to your thigh when the job needs the trowel pinned to your leg - working at height, climbing scaffold, hands-free movement - or take the strap off and carry the pouch by the body alone when that suits the day better. Plasterers tell us they switch between the two modes depending on whether they are on the wall or in transit.
