What is the maximum tool load on the orange 90 cm Hammerex lanyard?+
The lanyard is rated to a 6.8 kg maximum tool load, which covers the typical belt-loop hand tools a scaffolder, ironworker, roofer or carpenter tethers at height. The 2 cm cord runs premium nylon and elastic webbing with stainless steel hardware at the tool end and an aluminium twist-lock carabiner at the belt end. It is built for daily site abuse, not for very heavy power tools beyond the 6.8 kg working limit.
Why does the orange lanyard work well on scaffolding sites?+
Orange is high-visibility against grey scaffold tube and most building backgrounds, which is why it is the standard scaffolders' colour across the UK. A scaffolder with an orange lanyard against an orange harness or hi-vis stays consistent across the site uniform. Many crews use orange as the default colour for the rigging team and reserve the other colours for site personnel. The lanyard performs identically across the colour range.
How does the elastic length behave from 90 cm to 120 cm?+
At rest the lanyard sits at 90 cm, keeping it tight against your belt or harness so it does not snag scaffold tube or hang into your work. When you reach for the tethered tool, the elastic stretches up to 120 cm of working extension, giving enough reach to use the tool naturally. As soon as you release, the lanyard retracts back to 90 cm and tucks itself out of the way for the next move.
What does the aluminium twist-lock carabiner attach to?+
The twist-lock aluminium carabiner clips to work belts, harness loops, work bag handles and fixed anchor points on the scaffold itself. The twist-lock action stops the gate from popping open under accidental load, which is the failure mode of cheaper snap carabiners. The opposite end of the lanyard is an adjustable loop that ties around any belt-loop hand tool, so the lanyard is universal across the kit you carry.
Is the orange Hammerex tool lanyard certified for fall arrest?+
No. The 90 cm Tool Lanyard is designed exclusively to tether hand tools at height, preventing dropped-tool incidents below. It is not certified PPE for fall arrest, climbing safety, lifting personnel or any other safety-critical use involving human load. Use approved fall-protection equipment for that, never a tool lanyard. The lanyard is covered by our one-year warranty against manufacturing defects on the elastic, nylon, carabiner and stainless hardware.
Where does Hammerex ship from?+
Every Hammerex product is made in our own Yogyakarta, Indonesia factory and dispatched from there via EMS air freight. We don't drop-ship; the same workshop that stitches the leather packs and posts the order.
How long until my order is dispatched?+
Standard dispatch is within 48 hours of order confirmation, posted to EMS. Custom thread colour, custom company branding, and Pro Trade Cover orders add roughly +2 working days to dispatch because they're cut, stitched and finished to spec.
How long does Hammerex UK delivery take?+
Typical UK delivery is 5-6 working days from EMS pickup. We send tracking on dispatch. Free UK delivery is available on selected products; non-UK destinations are confirmed on WhatsApp at checkout.
Is Hammerex a new brand?+
No. Hammerex has been supplying the UK trade through wholesale distribution for over 12 years. We now sell direct from the factory so the buyer keeps the margin the distributor used to take.
Does Hammerex offer custom company branding on belts?+
Yes — most leather belts and tool pouches can be laser-printed with your company name and logo for +£10 per item. Open the "Your company brand name" slider on the product page; our admin confirms artwork with you via WhatsApp and sends a mock-up for approval before production starts.
What is the Hammerex Pro Trade Cover?+
Beyond the standard 1-year defect warranty, the Pro Trade Cover keeps your belt in service for 3 full years on the parts that wear under daily site use — re-stitching, rivet/stud replacement, buckle service, slider replacement, and leather conditioning. You post the belt to us, we fix it and post it back. You pay postage both ways; we cover all labour and materials. Unlimited claims for 3 years from delivery.
Can I get a custom thread colour on a Hammerex belt?+
Yes. Black is the house thread colour and is included free. Six other colours (Yellow, Red, Brown, Orange, Green, White) carry a small per-unit fee and add +2 working days to dispatch while we stitch your order to spec. Selectable on the product page in the "Thread colour" slider.
How do Hammerex multi-buy discounts work?+

Do you offer wholesale or trade accounts?+
Yes. We run a distribution-partner programme with transparent pricing, protected territories and fair monthly targets — designed around real demand in your market. Retail welcomed from 30 kg mixed product orders. Apply via the Partners page on the site.
