The lanyard is rated for tools up to 1.5 kg. That covers most podgers, claw hammers, adjustable spanners and the everyday hand tools a scaffolder reaches for at height. It is not designed for drills, breakers or any battery tool over that weight. For heavier kit, use a dedicated tool tether rated specifically to the tool weight.
Both. One end has a steel carabiner that hooks onto a harness D-ring, belt loop or tool hook on a scaffold board. The other end is a captive loop that goes around the tool handle or onto a tool attachment point. The elasticated body stretches if a tool slips, absorbing the snatch before the carabiner takes the full weight.
Yes. The braided body is built to take rubbing across scaffold tubes, brickwork edges and roof tile arrises without fraying. It also tolerates the warm air around a soldering iron or hot-air gun while it is being used at height. Direct contact with an open flame or a cutting disc will damage the cover, so route it clear of those tools.
Yes. The captive end loops around any tool handle that has a lanyard point or a balanced grip. Plenty of scaffolders use it on tools from other brands they already own. If a tool has a slick rubber grip with no attachment point, fit a heat-shrink tool-attachment ring first so the loop has something solid to bite onto.
Yes, 1 year against manufacturing defects in the carabiner, the stitching and the elasticated core. We do not cover lanyards that have arrested a fall, taken a known shock load or shown obvious heat or cut damage, as those should be retired. If you are unsure whether yours is still safe to use, replace it - it is not worth the risk.
Every Hammerex product is made in our own Yogyakarta, Indonesia factory and dispatched from there via EMS air freight. We don't drop-ship; the same workshop that stitches the leather packs and posts the order.
