What is 1680D polyester and why does the Garden Apron use it?+
The 1680D figure refers to the density of the fibres woven into the fabric. It is roughly twice as dense as the 600D polyester used in most garden aprons, which means it shrugs off thorn snags, soil abrasion and watering-can splashes. The PVC backing adds a moisture barrier so the apron stays dry against your clothes when you are kneeling on damp beds. It is the same fabric we use across the rest of the Garden range.
How heavy is the apron and does the neck strap dig in after a long day?+
The apron weighs around 0.7 kg and measures 70 cm by 55 cm. The neck strap is adjustable, so most gardeners find a length that distributes the weight without pressing on the spine. The quick-release waist buckle also takes some of the load off the neck once the lower utility pocket starts filling with harvested produce. We sized it to be carried comfortably across a full day in the allotment.
Can the Garden Apron be put through a washing machine after a muddy session?+
We recommend wiping the apron clean with a damp cloth and mild soapy water rather than machine-washing it. The 1680D polyester is water-resistant and the PVC backing does not respond well to repeated machine cycles, which can degrade the bonding. For muddy days, rinse the apron with a hose and hang it to dry in shade. Treated this way, the apron and its yellow stitching keep their finish for years.
Will the apron suit a landscaper who carries heavier tools than a home gardener?+
Yes. We designed the Garden Apron with reinforced industrial stitching and a large lower utility pocket precisely for landscapers and grounds staff who carry secateurs, a folding saw, twine and seed packets at the same time. The waist belt buckle is quick-release rather than a fiddly knot, so you can drop the apron in seconds when moving between jobs. It carries the same one-year warranty as the rest of the Hammerex range.
Does the Garden Apron come in any colour besides black?+
For now it is made in one colour: black body with Hammerex yellow stitching and yellow trim. We keep the range single-colour so the workshop can run longer batches of the same fabric and hold the price at GBP 15.75. If you would like a different colour for a uniformed crew or a landscaping team, message the Hammerex team on WhatsApp about a bulk order and we will see what is feasible.
Where does Hammerex ship from?+
Every Hammerex product is made in our own Yogyakarta, Indonesia factory and dispatched from there via EMS air freight. We don't drop-ship; the same workshop that stitches the leather packs and posts the order.
How long until my order is dispatched?+
Standard dispatch is within 48 hours of order confirmation, posted to EMS. Custom thread colour, custom company branding, and Pro Trade Cover orders add roughly +2 working days to dispatch because they're cut, stitched and finished to spec.
How long does Hammerex UK delivery take?+
Typical UK delivery is 5-6 working days from EMS pickup. We send tracking on dispatch. Free UK delivery is available on selected products; non-UK destinations are confirmed on WhatsApp at checkout.
Is Hammerex a new brand?+
No. Hammerex has been supplying the UK trade through wholesale distribution for over 12 years. We now sell direct from the factory so the buyer keeps the margin the distributor used to take.
Does Hammerex offer custom company branding on belts?+
Yes — most leather belts and tool pouches can be laser-printed with your company name and logo for +£10 per item. Open the "Your company brand name" slider on the product page; our admin confirms artwork with you via WhatsApp and sends a mock-up for approval before production starts.
What is the Hammerex Pro Trade Cover?+
Beyond the standard 1-year defect warranty, the Pro Trade Cover keeps your belt in service for 3 full years on the parts that wear under daily site use — re-stitching, rivet/stud replacement, buckle service, slider replacement, and leather conditioning. You post the belt to us, we fix it and post it back. You pay postage both ways; we cover all labour and materials. Unlimited claims for 3 years from delivery.
Can I get a custom thread colour on a Hammerex belt?+
Yes. Black is the house thread colour and is included free. Six other colours (Yellow, Red, Brown, Orange, Green, White) carry a small per-unit fee and add +2 working days to dispatch while we stitch your order to spec. Selectable on the product page in the "Thread colour" slider.
How do Hammerex multi-buy discounts work?+
Buy 2 saves 10%, buy 3 saves 15% — applied automatically at the quantity step on most products. No code, no waiting. Bulk and trade pricing beyond that is available — message us via the Partners page for a territory-protected wholesale account.
What currencies can I pay in?+
Checkout in GBP, IDR, USD, SGD, AUD, or EUR through Hammerex multi-currency accounts. Live FX, no hidden conversion markup. Your final invoice is in your selected currency.
How are Hammerex products made?+
We use the right material for the job — different leathers across our range, faux leather, and synthetic fabrics where they outperform leather (water resistance, weight, washability). Cutting, stitching, riveting, QC and pack-out all happen under one roof in Yogyakarta. Every unit is inspected on CCTV-recorded QC before pack — no outsourced assembly, no reseller in the chain.
Do you offer wholesale or trade accounts?+
Yes. We run a distribution-partner programme with transparent pricing, protected territories and fair monthly targets — designed around real demand in your market. Retail welcomed from 30 kg mixed product orders. Apply via the Partners page on the site.
How do I track my Hammerex order?+
We send the EMS tracking number on WhatsApp the day your order is dispatched. EMS provides updates from collection through customs to your door — typical UK transit is 5-6 working days. If anything stalls, message us on WhatsApp and we'll chase EMS for you.
